Go SA go SA go! Bring them down! Bring them down!


maybe the title says it all.


if there was one day when the entire SAJC woke up on the right side of bed, this would be it.


but before i start elaborating on the day's events, shall do something i wanted to do yesterday... which is a nice little reflection before nationals starts.


well its started. but ohwell no one said i couldn't do this still lol...


its been a uphill struggle really since changing to hook. till now my hook's really erratic and speed too is fast slow fast slow. well i made the decision somewhere last year. and it was only during december that i really started training hook. anyways six months have passed since then, and under uncle henry i must admit it's really improved quite a bit, but then... starting from almost zero has been a tremendous challenge.


well i think i must count my blessings la. to be able to make the team must already be really lucky for me. i mean honestly darryl and glenn deserve a spot in the team too la. thats without doubt. but well somehow i was lucky enough to get in. so yar to be able to experience the euphoria and the pure thrill of bowling in national schools must have been really lucky of me already.


and thrill it is. really. its the one reason i chose to came sajc and i think to live it makes it all worth it.


aniwae. woke up today coz honestly. cldn't sleep. woke up at 7 and tried to continue sleeping. but ended up just u know slacking around in bed so woke up at 8 lyk dat. watched tv. lazed around the house. aniwae soon caught a ride from aloy and yar headed to yishun.


the girls were bowling. so cheered a lil since it was already last game couldn't really help much. aniwae the girls put in an overall consistent performance. kudos to clara and steph for bringing up the team. so currently girls lie second behind rjc. fight on girls! lets go for gold.


makan-ed opp. the alley. soon headed back and slacked around before finally getting down to bowl. haha s19 actually came down to support us. so bowled. and lets say. personally my performance was beyond disappointing really... but aniwae that's not important so long that sajc thrashes and achieves our target as a team. haha yup! the j2s and edwin were really solid today la. totally power. 1, 4, 5, 6, 7. i think those numbers just make our day really. but of course we cannot afford to get complacent... so ya work hard guys. let's put us back in our own place.


actually honestly... it felt a little weird at the start, knowing that from sji we move on to our various colleges and now compete as rivals. i honestly think that the team spirit cultivated within sji bowling within my batch still holds strong really. as a captain in the past u definitely felt responsible for the team's failures and successes, and today i felt satisfied really - knowing that a team was accomplished... and i realised one very important thing that enabled our team to get together strong was really how personalities implemented one another. aniwae thats another story for another day.


haha... okay. chionged down to hometeam to watch the rugby match. while on the cab sonny tld me sa was leading 3-0. den when i reached the score was 5-3 to rjc. soon it became 10-3.


with just a few minutes left... sajc with great determination and grit powered through rjc's defence and scored a try. the resulting kick was converted and this tied the match at 10-10. at that moment, when all seemed gone, light was suddenly lit at the back of the tunnel and the entire contingent of saints simply went into upheavel. cheers rocketed through the roof.


den with wad seemed to be "stoppage time" (dun understand rugby timing rules... lol)... sa agained piled through the rjc defence with supreme determination and grit, and wadeva it is... i think the gods smiled down on the saints today coz the ball touched the try line and this time... euphoria coupled with pure madness drained down on sajc and the crowd in blue and white simply went ecstatic. 15-10 the score and the trophy, after 17 years finally seemed destined back to the men in blue and white stripes.


soon after, the whistle was blown. the ruggers stood on the field. some crying. some going crazy. some just lost in the moment. the school too seemed lost in the moment but all we knew was that we won. everyone rushed onto the pitch as the school congregated as one. the celebrations were aplenty and everything else didn't seem to matter at that time.


for sajc rugby had finally... after 17 yrs... brought home the title once again.


it's been a wonderful season for team sajc really. now we're entering the crucial stages and hopefully bowling can apply the finishing touches by achieving our targets of winning both championships nxt week when sch draws to a close.


on a personal note. i guess i've disappointed myself with my bowling. today along the games i asked myself "yewliang is this wad u worked so hard to end up with?"... maybe the opportunities presented itself. it really did. but i didn't grab it. and now i hafta live with my lost chances.


nevertheless there's still 2/3s of the tournament to go. and no doubt i will fight on. know why?


coz saints bowling is for winners only. and winners never give up.
