While everyone seems hooked up on soccer fever (probably me too??), i shall now take a break from 22 men chasing a white ball on grass patches and divert the attention to 22 cars on a cement track chasing the chequered flag...

yup no doubt it's formula one.

that's schumacher during qualifying

this week the famous blue of renault and the devilish red of ferrari travel to the well known silverstone circuit in northamtonshire, england. and yesterday's qualifying was drama mama style.

the first 15 minute round saw shock eliminations - Jenson Button in his Honda unable to put forward a time fast enough, and the same also happened to Mark Webber in his Williams. An even faster casualty was Jarno Trulli in his Toyota, whose engine expired in the pits leaving him without a time.

So with three surprise exits were three surprise inclusions to the second round - Liuzzi, Speed and Monteiro. The second session was marred with controversy when Coulthard - Superman in Monaco felt that Montoya had delayed him on his flying lap, thus Coulthard was unable to record a faster time - ending up 11th, and just missing out on the final session.

After the top ten cars had burned out their fuel, the shootout began. With a minute plus left, all cars pitted for new tyres, and the real show started. Schumacher came in with 1:20.574, but a few seconds later Alonso eclipsed this with a 1:20.253. The last car to finish was the McLaren of Raikkonen, and he pulled off a stunner of 1:20.397 - splitting the two previous world champions in p2.

So its Alonso Kimi Schumi Massa Fisi and Barrichello making up the top six, tonight the British GP starts quite smartly at 7.30pm, and ends at 9pm, just when i'm prepared to watch my Holland match. heh another tv marathon. wonder wad happened to homework?

world cup fever is here. and i thought i might had developed a real fever last night. had a terrible headache... prob coz of the late nights. but ohwell the matches other than the USELESS ENGLAND MATCH have proven to be very entertaining. yes may they all continue this way.
