One of the most inspiration stories mankind has ever told is that of the discovery of fire. Today this story, although not as popular as others like Little Red Riding Hood or Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, still serves as one of the most commonly known stories around the world.

In the story we learn that at the beginning of time, when man first roamed the earth, there was no such thing as fire. The world was dark and humans (if you could even call them humans at that time) were cold with hunger. Thankfully lightning from a storm struck a nearby tree and the first men were able to locate it and it was there and then that fire was first discovered. Soon they found that this thing which caused a searing feeling upon close contact with one's skin would serve many purposes - for now they could keep warm at night and food could be cooked to keep their bellies from growling with hunger.

No matter where we live in - whether it is in Britain or Bedok, we have often been taught not to play with fire. Wherever it can be, but most prominently in the kitchen, it has been inculcated within our minds since a tender age that that thing that burns yellow and orange should not be tampered with, no matter what.

From the news we learn that very frequently someplace in our country will often experience a burning inferno of a nightmare - that is suffering a massive fire to their houses or workplaces. It is events like this that remind us how real the dangers playing with fire posesses and serves as a big warning not to do the same thing.

Locally, significant measures have been made. Schools give talks and teachers educate students though daily lessons. Also parents bring their children up with sufficient knowledge inputed to them. However this does not seem to be the case with the international community.

Well probably it ain't that obvious yet, but today's topic is on the haze.

Bloody haze you might want to call it. But since there ain't no blood so we shall just stick to the stupid haze for the present. By all means it definitely is rather stupid.

I might be accused here of spoiling ASEAN relationships but who is there to blame but Indonesia. By all means burn burn burn for if I can remember my secondary 2 geography textbook correctly it creates fertile land for planting crops and therefore having better and larger harvests. Although environmental groups would protest that burning of trees and forests come with a total ban, it would not seem to be necessary to me but...

Not to such an extent LAH!

wah lau. can't even look properly. smell properly. breathe properly. everytime i look outside the window it looks as if it's raining. and not only that the worst part is that it makes pple here super duper thirsty la. drink drink drink whole day like nobody's business. (now don't ask me why the haze makes me thirsty but i realise that there is a positive relationship between the two items)

Remember Social Studies? Remember all that stuff we studied about ASEAN and how good it is? (as described by the textbook) All that policies and measures in place to tackle haze and all the problems that it poses? Well obviously it ain't so great after all.

ohwell actually i have no idea why i blogged such a post but since while blog-hopping i realised everyone was bloggin about this and therefore why not there was so much to be said. haha Mr. Chua how do you like the introduction?

meanwhile it's getting late. Zzzzzz...... Good Night pple. ADIOS!
