and without knowing it, i'm going to be a "trained soldier" very very soon.

i haven't gotten the chance to talk about army life yet, so i guess i owe this blog a little entry on it - just when i'm about to pass out of basic military school.

can still remember the day of enlistment, i had shaved my hair and just the feeling and atmosphere of everything felt very foreign. had to learn how things operated real fast and adapt to things as best as you could. it was kind of like stepping into another country, and certainly for sure stepping out of your comfort zone.

but as things passed, you slowly observe and realise that if you're able to take things in your stride and with confidence most things should not pose a problem. i tend to like to observe the people around me in army, that would refer to my commanders and of course my platoon mates. trying to observe behavioural trends, patterns and basically how people performed when placed under pressure situations. along the way you start to recognize similar characteristics and adverse traits and hence you tend to be able to deal with peculiar situations better.

well at least i'm still thinking straight after two months. haha i've had too much of personal accounts of friends who didn't, and certainly i couldn't afford one more.

anyways, life in the army isn't really that bad as is often stereotypically described. honestly, the food is gd! and more to that, the learning experience here is something that truly cannot be found elsewhere. i mean, given a choice, most of us would have never served national service. but since i'm predicting most of us are going to live to an average of 70 years, why not use 2 years of it and experience something different?

in any case, this is only the start and things are i believe only going to get tougher and rougher. but for now, i'm gonna enjoy that long break that's coming soon and we'll see how things turn out. heh god bless pple.
