i am here today with a complaint to make - typical of most singaporeans in style, but different from most singaporeans in content.

why in style? you may ask. well, singaporeans are a complain-sive lot. it's pretty apparent from the everyday happenings on this little red dot. the government complains that too few couples are giving birth, couples are complaining that there's nothing worth giving birth to. when the government gives benefits, couples complain that it's not enough. when the government gives more benefits, couples complain that they should give it earlier, and so on and so forth.

it doensn't exactly end. and oh btw, i still don't think birth rates will rise despite all these, but that's a GP essay for yesteryear. or in tomorrow years. right now i'm in the army.

then why in content? you see, singaporeans like to complain about things that surround their lives. they mostly don't look at the bigger picture, just that tiny miniscule circle that affects them and start shooting words away. i'm not saying im that farsighted either, but this complaint is about something that most would agree does not have much of an intricate connection with my life, yet i'm going to do it.

I HAVE A COMPLAINT TO MAKE!!!

I'VE NOT WATCHED AN F1 RACE IN YEARS!

(ok fine that's an exaggeration - but it feels like years!)

it's really been too long. most of the time i may be able to remember to record the race and book out the next weekend and watch it on replay. but by then i already know what happened exactly during the race (albeit illustrated by words) and the thrill really isn't there anymore.

the last time i actually watched a live race was? two months ago?

this is too much for me to handle. and i may not even be able to catch my singapore race in september - i will catch friday's practice, saturday's qualifying but then the sunday race i have to book in???

well, there's one more thing my complaint is similar in style with everyday singaporeans - we usually complain about things that we know we can't do anything about. (remember ERP hikes, bus fare hikes?)

at the end, i have to heave a huge sigh and suck and oversucked thumb. still im really looking forward to valencia this weekend and let's hope my red horses do something right for once. till then, ciao pple and take care!
